  6. Gratitude is a way of life and helps set your emotions on a positive path. A person who centers themselves in gratitude has learned to appreciate others and what they do.
  7. Living in authenticity means having your values, beliefs and goals in alignment. An authentic existence acts as a rudder to steer you straight through even the most difficult of circumstances.
  8. Giving support to other women is a must. Those pioneers that have gone before us have paved out a way and we owe it to those following us to do the same. Being involved in women’s groups and issues gives you a better understanding of how others are coping with the same issues you face.
  9. None of us have the same perceptions of the world and how it works. Our perceptions, beliefs and understandings need to be constantly challenged to help us learn a broader view of what is going on.

  1. Office drama is never a part of a successful woman executive’s agenda. It is to be avoided and stopped whenever possible. Office drama does nothing to advance the efficiency and effectiveness of the work being done.
  2. A successful women leader is respectful of everyone around her. She respects them as people and she respects their opinions and viewpoints as something valid coming from their thought processes. She is willing to take all ideas under consideration.
  3. Successful women leaders are role models for both men and women.They are sure of themselves and can step out in confidence that they will do the right thing.
  4. Mentoring is something all leaders need to do but for women leaders this is an opportunity to give their subordinates a leg up. Most women never have a mentor and it is so important to successfully navigate the organizational culture.
  5. Successful women leaders take care of themselves. They are fully aware that if the don’t take care of themselves they will have nothing to give to anyone else or to their work.
  6. Some kind of life/work balance has been achieved by successful women leaders. They have found ways to make their busy lives work for them. Most say they have done it through staying flexible and focused.
